Privacy Policy: QR Code Detector
QR Code Detector scans QR codes and barcodes, including EAN, UPC, Code 128, Data Matrix, PDF417, and Aztec, using your camera, screen, open tabs, or images you choose. Scanning happens on your device. The extension does not send scanned code contents to analytics.
What stays on your device
Camera and screen frames, tab snapshots, and images you choose are processed locally and are not stored after scanning.
Decoded results and your scan history stay in your browser's local extension storage on your computer.
Your settings stay on your device.
You can delete any history entry or clear all of it inside the extension. Uninstalling removes everything it stored locally.
Analytics
The welcome page and the hosted goodbye and rating pages carry analytics used to count installs and removals by country.
The welcome page sends one welcome_open event after the first installation through this product's own site. That site derives the country from the connection and does not store the event. The event contains the product slug and extension version, plus a randomly generated numeric client identifier. It does not include scanned code contents, scan images, or page URLs. Scanning itself does not trigger analytics.
The hosted goodbye and rating pages also send analytics when they are opened.
Feedback and uninstall survey
The Rate us control opens the Chrome Web Store review page for four or five stars. For one to three stars, it opens the hosted rating page. The uninstall survey opens after you remove the extension. Nothing is sent until you choose to submit feedback.
If you send optional feedback after a low rating, or from the page that opens after you remove the extension, we receive the reason you picked, any comment you typed, the extension version, and the interface language. We do not collect your email, your name, an install identifier, or your IP address. Comments are delivered to us through Telegram so we can read them. Submissions without a comment are stored only as counts. We do not sell this information.
Your rights and choices
You can view or clear your scan history inside the extension. If you live in the EU or UK under GDPR or UK GDPR, or California under CCPA or CPRA, you can request access, correction, and deletion of personal data and exercise other rights provided by law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information. For a request, write to kim.t.sh88@gmail.com.
Children
QR Code Detector is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. The current version always lives here.
