Privacy Policy: QR Code Detector
QR Code Detector scans and decodes QR codes and barcodes from the camera, screen, open tabs, or images you choose. It also creates QR codes from text or supported batch files. Scanning and generation happen on your device. The extension does not send scanned or generated content to analytics.
What stays on your device
Camera and screen frames, tab snapshots, and images you choose are processed locally. Area-selection screenshots are deleted when a scan finishes or is cancelled. Captures that expire unused are removed the next time the extension starts or accesses a capture.
Decoded results and your scan history stay in your browser's local extension storage on your computer.
Text you enter in the generator and the QR codes it creates are processed on your device.
Your settings stay on your device.
You can delete any history entry or clear all of it inside the extension. Uninstalling removes everything it stored locally.
Analytics
The welcome page and the hosted goodbye and rating pages carry analytics used to count installs and removals by country. The welcome event goes through this site, which derives the country from the connection and stores nothing. The welcome page opens automatically on first installation and sends an event whenever it is opened again. The hosted goodbye and rating pages send their open events when loaded.
Scanning does not trigger analytics, and scan content is not sent to the relay.
Feedback and uninstall survey
The Rate us control opens the Chrome Web Store review page for four or five stars. For one to three stars, it opens the hosted rating page. The uninstall survey opens after you remove the extension. Both hosted pages send analytics when opened. The form sends your selected reason and optional text only when you choose to submit it.
If you submit feedback after a low rating or from the uninstall survey, the owner receives the reason you picked, any comment you typed, the extension version, and the interface language. The forms do not ask for your email or name. Non-empty comments are routed to the owner through Telegram. Submissions without a comment are stored only as counts. We do not sell this information.
Your rights and choices
You can view or clear your scan history inside the extension. If you live in the EU or UK under GDPR or UK GDPR, or California under CCPA or CPRA, you can request access, correction, and deletion of personal data and exercise other rights provided by law. Children
QR Code Detector is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
